When Fawcett was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, Majors tried to contact her indirectly. I think he always wanted to talk to her again, but he was just afraid to speak to her before.” Although Fawcett never married again after her divorce from Majors, she had been dating longtime boyfriend Ryan O’Neal for nearly 30 years. O’Neal proposed to her countless times, but she always said no until last week when she agreed to marry him. She died a few days later on Thursday.
