Eva Longoria accepts a $200,000 donation from AT&T on behalf of PADRES Contra El Cáncer on Saturday (February 28) in Burbank, Calif. The 33-year-old Desperate Housewives actress is the national spokeswoman for PADRES, an organization to improve the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families. Marley & Me co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson promote their new pooch flick on German TV show “Wetten Dass…” at Messe Duesseldorf in Germany on Saturday (February 28). During the show, there was a bet to see if a woman who owned 28 huskies could name some of them just from the sound of them slurping from their water bowl. Jen bet that she could do it while Owen bet that she couldn’t. The woman identifed four dogs and Jen won the bet! Since they were promoting their dog movie, the Germans made Owen eat a doggy treat. Jen also took a bite of the biscuit in support of Owen . BTW, it wasn’t really a dog biscuit. It was just a cookie! Jen , 40, wore a Givenchy dress and some killer Bernaz Kanani heels.

Lauren Conrad has revealed the cover of her first fiction novel, L.A. Candy , which hits shelves June 16. The Hills star has said about the book, “[It tells] a behind-the scenes story of a young girl [named Jane Roberts] who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show. The books will be loosely inspired by my own experience and are definitely influenced by my own life. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out… I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to. So, I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.”

I didn’t do too badly in my Oscar predictions. At the last minute, I went sentimental and predicted Mickey Rourke over Sean Penn , which was a bad idea, given that the Oscars were all business and duty this week, with no room for anything sentimental or personal. The other big mistake I made was to predict The Dark Knight (55 screens) as a winner in most of its eight categories. Everyone in the free world saw the film and no one can deny that its achievements in these categories were ground-breaking in some cases, and superb in all cases. But the Academy dutifully chose The Curious Case of Benjamin Button for these awards. I have yet to meet very many people who actually like Benjamin Button , so I think there are two factors at stake. One is the concept in which the movie that employed the most people subsequently gets the most Oscar votes. The other factor states that only a certain type of movie actually gets to win. Benjamin Button is an Oscar movie through-and-through. It’s long, first of all, and has a high-class literary pedigree (F. Scott Fitzgerald). It has obvious award bait in all the categories, not only in acting, cinematography, editing and music, but also the lower categories like makeup, visual effects and sound that usually go to summer blockbusters.
